Why You Need a Creative Spark for Content Marketing with AI

You know this as well as I do: generic content SUCKS. There's a good reason why you scroll past 99% of LinkedIn posts, why some blog posts make you wonder if an AI puked them up, and why, in a world of endless content, you remember so little of it. The difference? A creative spark—the difference between content you engage with and content you forget instantly.

I'm Philipp, an innovation consultant, co-founder of Reruption, and a podcast host. I also use PostFlow, a tool that’s taken my reach and engagement to the next level. And let me tell you: content that sparks attention isn't an accident. It’s a process. Let’s break it down.

Why AI Needs Your "Creative Spark"

Here’s the thing: left alone, AI produces bland, forgettable content. Ask for a review of the Tesla Model 3, and you’ll get something factual yet soulless. But if you add your angle—"Share three unique pros and cons of the Tesla Model 3 based on a month of driving"—the AI suddenly has more personality. It becomes specific, relatable, and insightful.

Why? Because by narrowing down the topic, you add personality and context. The AI is just a tool; your job is to steer it with precision and creativity.

How to Generate Original Ideas (And a Whole Lot of Them)

Content creation doesn’t have to mean endless hours of brainstorming. One hack I swear by? Record yourself talking about a topic. Think of it like grabbing a coffee with a friend—if a friend is someone who doesn’t mind listening to you ramble about your niche interests for an hour. Once you’re done, turn that recording into an ocean of content:

  1. Transcribe the Conversation: You’ll end up with a goldmine of raw ideas and insights.

  2. Extract Key Insights: Look for phrases, stories, or points that catch your attention.

  3. Repurpose and Slice: Break down your transcript into short videos, LinkedIn posts, tweets, blog posts—each clip or idea could be a standalone content piece.

From one hour of talking, you might have a week’s worth of posts. And if you’re using PostFlow to schedule and auto-publish shorts across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn), the process gets insanely efficient. We’re talking about a 100x reach boost. Yeah, you read that right: 100x. All because the posts are frequent, targeted, and easy to produce.

Turning Conversations into High-Impact Content

Okay, so you’ve got your recording, your transcript, and a flood of ideas. What’s next? Here’s my formula for turning ideas into engaging content:

  • Highlight Your Unique Voice: Don’t hold back. This is where your personality shines. Use conversational language, sprinkle in some opinion, and don’t be afraid to disagree with popular views. In my case, sometimes a bit of profanity slips in—it's part of my voice.

  • Use Real Stories: If you’re discussing a lesson learned, tell the story of how you learned it. Readers and listeners love stories because they’re relatable and easy to follow.

  • Actionable Insights Matter: The best posts leave the reader with something practical they can implement. Like with my example on using PostFlow to streamline posting: sharing how it worked for me in practical terms makes the advice relatable and easy to apply.

How to Add Personality to AI-Generated Content

When you’re creating content with AI, remember that you are the secret sauce. Here’s how I add my flavor to AI-generated content:

  • Start with a Strong Prompt: Specific prompts = specific results. The more detail, the better.

  • Add Personal Insights: Don’t settle for the first draft. Add in your own experiences or point of view. I’ve often taken a bland first draft and transformed it into something memorable just by weaving in a story or personal opinion.

  • Keep It Conversational: Imagine you’re talking directly to your reader. I mean really talk to them. Like you’re having a coffee together. That energy keeps the content fresh and engaging.

What Do You Have to Say?

So here’s my question: What do you have to say to the world? If you don’t already have a backlog of content ideas, start with the talking-to-a-friend trick and let your creative spark loose. Once you’ve got your content, schedule it, share it, and keep that momentum going.
